Thank you for joining IWFOS 2021, the 5th International Workshop on Functional and Operatorial Statistics 2021. We want to provide you with some essential organizational and technical information. Please carefully read and follow the following instructions
Instructions for participants How to join a team in MS Teams
Online access
The Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) will be used as a communication platform for the whole online meeting. All talks, poster sessions and discussions will be organized in the IWFOS 2021 team inside MS Teams. The email address used for the workshop registration is the key to access the workshop team and all online events, talks, poster sessions, virtual rooms and discussions. Each registered participant obtains personal access to the IWFOS 2021 team.
All invited speakers and completely registered participants should already receive an email with an invitation to the IWFOS 2021 team. Please, follow the link sent in the invitation email to join the IWFOS 2021 team as soon as possible. During the first login to MS Teams, please, enter your full name(s) in order to be correctly identified.
- If you have problems to join the IWFOS 2021 team or to login into MS Teams,
- or if you have paid the conference fee but you did not receive any invitation email with the link to join the IWFOS 2021 team in MS Teams so far,
please, contact the organizers by email immediately, or join a technical test session on Monday, June 21 – the direct links to the test meetings are posted in the Programme.
Technical test sessions
Optional technical test sessions for all participants, especially presenters, who wish to check their microphones, speakers, and control of the MS Teams, will be organized on Monday, June 21. The organizers strongly advise all presenters and participants to join. See the Programme for details.
Programme
Generally, two blocks of sessions are planned during each of three workshop days, see the Programme for details.

Talks
- Each contributed talk is allocated a 20-minute time slot, including a discussion.
- Each invited talk is allocated a 40-minute time slot, including a discussion.
Speakers are expected to show (share the screen) and control the presentations (slides) from their computers.
Please, advise the organizers in advance if you plan to play sounds (e.g., sound recordings, movies with sound) in your presentation.
Posters
Posters are preferred in landscape orientation and in PDF (Portable Document Format) or PPT (PowerPoint presentation) formats; nevertheless, other standard formats (e.g., image) are allowed too. Each poster will be accessible for viewing during the all three workshop days.
Additionally, each poster is allocated with a 5-minute time slot for a short presentation without discussion to attract other participants. The short presentation of a poster must not exceed 5 minutes and must not have more than five slides. Moreover, separate virtual meetings for poster viewing and discussion will be scheduled. The authors are expected to attend these discussions.
Authors of posters should upload their posters to a particular folder in the IWFOS 2021 team after login into MS Teams no later than on Tuesday, June 22 at 12.00 CEST (UTC + 02:00). The link for uploading the poster is posted in the Instructions for participants as well as in the IWFOS 2021 team in MS Teams.
