Following the success of the previous four meetings held in Toulouse (France, 2008), Santander (Spain, 2011), Stresa (Italy, 2014) and A Coruña (Spain, 2017), we announce that the 5th International Workshop on Functional and Operatorial Statistics IWFOS 2021 will be held from 23rd to 25th June 2021 in Brno, Czech Republic online, in virtual space.
IWFOS 2020 originally planned for June 24–26, 2020, in Brno, Czech Republic, was postponed to June 2021 and, in addition, moved to a virtual space due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
During 3 days (6 half days), the workshop will offer about 10 invited talks, 30 contributed talks and a poster session on theory, methods and applications in the vibrant field of functional data analysis. There will be no parallel sessions. We aim to organize an enjoyable workshop for the participants.
The purpose of the series of IWFOS initiated by the working group STAPH of Toulouse at year 2008, is to highlight the major trends in different areas of functional statistics through the exchange of ideas and the promotion of collaboration between researchers from different countries. It aims at contributing to future developments of such areas. The workshop will be a platform for communication, exchange of ideas and interaction for researchers in statistics for infinite-dimensional and high-dimensional problems.
IWFOS 2020/2021 is jointly organized by Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, Brno, by Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague, and by The Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists, Brno branch.
The meeting is organized with support from Toulouse Mathematics Institute, Springer, Autocont, Prefa Brno, Kiwi.com, Trilobyte Statistical Software, SC&C Partner and Home Credit.
